Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our team. As a Family Law Paralegal, you will provide essential support to our attorney in handling family law cases. This is a full-time position based in our office.
Duties:
- Assist attorney in all aspects of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and domestic violence matters
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence
- File legal documents with the court and maintain case files
- Coordinate and schedule client meetings, court hearings, and depositions
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Assist with trial preparation and attend court hearings as needed
- Manage document production and discovery requests
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, managing calendars, organizing files, and staying on top of deadlines
Skills:
- Strong writing and typing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents
- Knowledge of family law and legal terminology
- Proficient in project management to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience working with systems such as Microsoft 365, MyCase, Family Law Software or similar software
- Ability to file documents electronically using court e-filing systems
- Excellent organizational skills for maintaining accurate case files and managing multiple cases simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all work performed
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Knowledge of family law procedures and ability to assist in litigating cases
